A driver has been fined in Renfrewshire for having “one of the worst” bulging tyres road police officers have seen.
Officers stopped a car in Elderslie and issued a fixed penalty notice to the driver and prohibited the vehicle from being driven.
Police shared the picture of the tyre on X and warned motorists of the “extreme danger” of a bulging tyre.
Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit said: “If your tyre is bulging it means the sidewalls have failed, and it is likely to deflate rapidly – putting you and other road users in extreme danger.”
