Busy M77 motorway to close for essential resurfacing works

Overnight works will take place between 8pm and 6am from Wednesday until Sunday at junction one southbound.

The M77 motorway will close at junction one southbound for three consecutive nights this week for essential resurfacing works.

Amey, carrying out the work on behalf of Transport Scotland, said the closure includes the off-slip road at Dumbreck.

The overnight works will take place between 8pm and 6am from Wednesday until Saturday and involve the following:

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – March 26/27/28

• Closure of the M77 Junction 1 southbound off-slip. Traffic will be directed to continue on the M77 southbound to Junction 2 and re-join the M77 northbound to exit via the northbound Junction 1 off-slip.

• Closure of the M74 northbound on-slip from Seaward Street. Traffic will be directed to follow Scotland Street and Carnoustie Street to join the M74.

• Closure of M74 northbound to M77 southbound link road. Traffic will continue on the M74 northbound to exit at the M8 Junction 23, then follow Dumbreck Road, Mosspark Boulevard, Corkerhill Road, Braidcraft Road and Barrhead Road to join the M77 at Junction 2. On Friday 28th March, traffic will join the M77 at Junction 1.

Wednesday and Thursday – March 26/27

• Closure of M77 Junction 1 southbound and northbound on-slips. Traffic from Dumbreck Road will follow Mosspark Boulevard, Corkerhill Road, Braidcraft Road and Barrhead Road to join the M77 at Junction 2.

• From 10pm – Closure of Dumbreck Road eastbound between Mosspark Boulevard and Lochinch Avenue and the westbound right turn lanes on to the M77 Junction 1 on-slip. Local traffic will follow Nithsdale Road and St Andrews Drive to re-join Dumbreck Road. M77 Junction 1 traffic will follow Mosspark Boulevard, Corkerhill Road, Braidcraft Road and the B762 Barrhead Road to re-join the M77 at Junction 2.

Thursday, March 27

• Closure of M77 southbound from the M8 to M77 Junction 2. Traffic will continue on the M8 westbound to Junction 24 Helen Street, then follow Helen Street, Paisley Road West, Corkerhill Road, Braidcraft Road and Barrhead Road to join the M77 at Junction 2.

• Closure of the M8 westbound to M77 Junction 1 southbound link road. There is no diversion required for this closure.
