Police are investigating after a car was deliberately firebombed on a quiet residential street in the east end of Glasgow.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze on Ard Street, in the Tollcross area of the city, in the early hours of Friday morning after being alerted just before midnight.
There were no reported casualties
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.51pm on Thursday, December 30 to reports of a car fire on Ard Street, Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the scene. There were no reported casualties.
“Firefighters left after making the area safe.”
Police are treating the incident as deliberate and appealing for witnesses.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a car on fire at Ard Street in Glasgow around 12.05am on Friday, 31 December.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.
“The incident is being treated as deliberate and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information can call 101, quoting 0017 of 31 December.”
