An investigation has been launched after a car was deliberately driven into and attacked with weapons on a motorway in Glasgow.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 12.10am on Saturday on the off slip from the eastbound M74 at the junction with Polmadie Road.
Three men with weapons, who were travelling in a dark blue Renault Clio, were reported to have approached a silver Nissan Micra and caused damage to the vehicle before it made off.
The Clio then followed the Micra where further deliberate collisions happened on Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road.
There were no reports of injuries.
Enquiries are ongoing to trace the men in the Clio.
Detective Inspector Stephen Greenshields said: “We believe this was a targeted attack on the Micra driver and I’m appealing to the public for help to trace those responsible.
“I’m particularly keen to speak to drivers who were in the area around the time and may have seen what happened. I’d also ask those with dash-cam, private CCTV or doorbell footage around Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road, to review this for anything which may assist our enquiries.”
Those with information are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 0032 of June 13. Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
