Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was deliberately set on fire in Larkhall.

Emergency services were called around 10.30pm on Friday, August 8 to a report of a car on fire at a property on Rorison Place in Ashgill.

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reports of any injuries.

Police say the fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Constable Muhammad Yas from Lanarkshire CID said: “We have carried out extensive enquiries and I am now appealing for the assistance of the public.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the fire or anything suspicious in the area around the time to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
