Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was deliberately set on fire in Paisley.

The incident, which involved a silver Vauxhall Meriva, happened on Hollows Avenue at around 7pm on Sunday.

Fire crews attended the scene and extinguished the fire, while no injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.

Detective sergeant Jamie McAteer said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the fire or anything suspicious in the area around the time to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could help to get in touch.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2805 of December 8, 2024.”
