Police found drugs with a street value of £286,000 and £10,000 in cash after stopping a vehicle on the M73 in Glasgow.

Officers made the discovery on the motorway near Baillieston at around 9.15pm on Friday April 26.

The force confirmed they had acted on intelligence when they stopped the 30-year-old man.

A drugs warrant was then executed at a property on Langlands Place in Cumbernauld around 1.45am on Saturday, April 27, and a further quantity of cannabis was recovered.

The 30-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday April 29 2024.

Sergeant Barry Jones said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland.
