A cat that was found in a bus engine in Scotland after a 400-mile trip from England has been rehomed.
The cat, now named Scout, jumped out of the engine of a minibus that had arrived back in the Parks of Hamilton depot in Blantyre on July 7.
The bus had travelled around 410 miles from South Mimms services in Hertfordshire, stopping at Norton Canes and Lancaster services.
After hanging around the depot for a few days, the animal was taken to the Cats Protection Scotland’s centre, where it was discovered she isn’t microchipped.

Cats Protection said Scout was thought to be a stray, who, after being alone for so long, enjoyed all the love and attention from the team at the Scotland Cat Centre.
One month after the ordeal, the charity confirmed she has now been adopted by a new family and is settling into her new home.
A spokesperson for the charity confirmed the news on social media: “Sweet Scout leapt out of a bus engine, having travelled all the way from England to Scotland.
“She is thought to have been a stray and enjoyed all the love and attention from the team at Scotland Cat Centre after being alone for so long. We’re thrilled she is now settling in at her new home with the family she deserves.”
Followers were quick to celebrate Scout’s news, with one writing: “Brilliant Scout – so pleased for you. Your new family are very lucky to have you – enjoy.”
