STV NewsA Celtic fan who winked at another man as he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl amid the club’s title-winning party has avoided jail.
Keir Mackie, 20, preyed on the girl in Glasgow city centre on May 17, 2025.
Thousands of fans had gathered in the surrounding areas that day to celebrate their team winning the league.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that the girl had been sitting on a bench, having been at the unofficial street bash.
Mackie, who was wearing Celtic clothing, sat next to the girl and spoke with her.
Fiscal Danielle McGuinness told the court that the victim was “slumped over” on the bench due to her having earlier been drinking.
The fiscal depute added: “Mackie began cuddling and kissing the girl.
“She went backwards before sitting up again, with Mackie putting his arm around her neck and kissing her.
“She was then lying across the bench, and Mackie put his head on her chest.”
The hearing was told that the girl then got up, but staggered and almost fell into passing members of the public.
Ms McGuinness said: “The girl tried to sit up, however, fell backwards again before Mackie placed his head on her chest and kissed her as she lay on the bench.”
The young victim slumped off – Mackie pulled her up, and they walked towards Queen Street.
Ms McGuinness said: “The girl was seen to be stumbling with Mackie holding her up, and another man is with him.
“They stopped at a shop entrance where Mackie was seen to hold the girl’s arms before putting his hands close to her body and kissing her.”
Two women passing by saw Mackie kissing and groping the girl while the other man watched on.
The women then noted that Mackie had exposed the girl while he kissed her, as well as touched her in an inappropriate area of her body.
Ms McGuinness added: “One of the women saw Mackie turn to the other man and winked at him while doing this.
“They also noted the girl was falling over trying to get away from Mackie.”
Other witnesses asked the girl if she knew Mackie, and she replied that she did not.
Mackie then said “sorry” before he walked off towards Queen Street station, where he boarded a train home to Bishopbriggs.
The girl ended up in hospital before Mackie was arrested at home, having been traced via CCTV.
First offender Mackie pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the girl.
Sheriff Andrew McIntyre ordered Mackie to do 300 hours of unpaid work and tagged him for nine months.
He was also put on the sex offenders register for five years.
