A flight bound for Chicago was forced to land at Glasgow airport due to an onboard emergency.
Lufthansa flight LH430 left Frankfurt on Thursday carrying 358 passengers.
Whilst travelling over Scotland, the crew were alerted to a medical emergency, forcing the craft to divert to Glasgow.
The plane made the emergency landing and was met by medical crews due to the “urgency of the situation”.
The Boeing 747-8 continued its journey across the Atlantic after refuelling.
A spokesperson said: “Due to the medical urgency of the situation, an emergency landing was declared to secure priority landing rights and to get the passenger to an emergency physician as quickly as possible.
“The Boeing 747-8 landed safely. After the ill passenger was handed over to local medical personnel and the aircraft was refueled, the flight continued on to Chicago.”
