A child has been taken to hospital after they were knocked down near a primary school in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to Cumberland Street outside Blackfriars Primary School in the Gorbals area around 3pm on Tuesday, following reports a collision involving a pedestrian and vehicle.
Two paramedic response units, a critical care paramedic, an ambulance and a trauma team, were sent to the scene, and the child was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children.
Police have cordoned off the area and remain on the scene. The condition of the child is currently unknown.
A spokesperson said: “Emergency services are attending a road crash involving a car and pedestrian which occurred around 3.05pm on Tuesday, October 15, on Cumberland Street, Glasgow.”
An SAS spokesperson added: “We received a call today at 3.08pm hours to attend an incident on Cumberland Street in Glasgow.
“We dispatched two paramedic response units, a critical care paramedic, one ambulance and our trauma team to the scene.
“Our first resource arrived on scene within three minutes, and we transported a child patient to the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow.”
