A school in Glasgow was evacuated after receiving a hoax bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon.
The threat was made in a phone call to Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Primary in Knightswood at around 12.10pm.
Police were called and specialist officers attended before carrying out a search of the area alongside Glasgow City Council.
Pupils were returned to classes once the area was confirmed as being safe.
The incident is now being investigated as officers look to find the person responsible for the phone call that they say is being treated “extremely seriously”.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers were called to an incident, believed to be a malicious call made to Corpus Christi school in Glasgow at around 12.10pm on Wednesday.
“A search was carried out in conjunction with the local authority and pupils returned to school. Enquiries are continuing to trace who is responsible.
“Police Scotland takes hoax calls extremely seriously. They divert police resources and cause disruption and alarm to the public.
“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101.“
A spokeswoman for Glasgow City Council said: “Everyone at the school is safe and pupils and staff were evacuated as a precaution and families kept informed following the incident.
“School staff acted quickly to follow the correct procedures and alerted police straight away.”
