Two children missing in woodland in North Lanarkshire have been found after being spotted by a helicopter.
The pair became lost in a remote area of forestry between Shotts and Fauldhouse on Monday night.
Officers looking for the children requested help from Police Scotland’s Air Unit which scrambled a helicopter to the scene.
Concerns grew for the children’s welfare with them missing in a dark unlit area of woodland.
The helicopter crew managed to locate the missing kids using infrared imaging just after 9.30pm.
With the help of the Air Unit, rescuers on the ground were able to reach the children.
A short time later officers delivered them to a place of safety.
