iStockA city centre lane has been cordoned off following a report of rape.
West Regent Lane in Glasgow has been taped off between Hope Street and Renfield Street after police were alerted to the incident at around 2am on Saturday (May 16).
Police Scotland said enquiries are ongoing and are currently at an early stage.
A spokesperson said: “We have received a report of a serious sexual assault which happened around 2am in the West Regent Lane area of Glasgow on Saturday, 16 May, 2026.
“Enquiries are at an early stage.”
