Concerns are growing for the welfare of a 68-year-old man who was last seen almost four days ago in North Ayrshire.
Derek Collins, from Stevenston, was last seen in Ardrossan around 11am on Monday and was subsequently reported missing on Wednesday.
He is described as white, 6ft and of slim build, with short grey and white hair. When he was last seen he was wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and brown shoes.
Officers believe Derek may have travelled to the Glentrool area of Dumfries and Galloway, some 50 miles away.
He drives a silver Peugeot Partner van with the registration number SB15 PPK.
Inspector Iona Lyall said: “We are extremely concerned for Derek’s wellbeing and we are working to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well.
“I would urge anyone who has seen Derek or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us. I would also appeal directly to Derek to please let someone know you are safe.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101 quoting incident number 1766 of October 1.”
