SNS GroupA convicted sex offender raped a vulnerable teenage girl he met in the street.
Calum Lewsley preyed on the 18-year-old stranger who had earlier been reported as missing.
She had been sitting on a bench near the Kirky Puffer bar in Kirkintilloch last May 6 when the 31-year-old approached her.
The predator asked if she was “alright” before suggesting they go to his home nearby to charge his phone, and then she could call the police to report where she was.
When they got there, Lewsley then suggested the girl go to his bedroom.
The High Court in Glasgow heard that the teenager soon became “frightened”.
Lewsley started then kissing and groping the victim, claiming she was “beautiful”.
He also stated that he wanted to have sex with the teenager.
The hearing was told Lewsley eventually went on to rape the girl.
After the attack, Lewsley then called the police himself, stating the girl was a “missing person” and that she was “vulnerable”.
He was then with the victim in the street when he flagged down a passing police car.
The officers took the girl in the vehicle – it was then she stated she had been “raped by the male” who had made the earlier call.
The court was told Lewsley went on to give an “erratic” account of what he said happened to a woman he knew.
He was later arrested, but made no comment when quizzed.
Lewsley pleaded guilty to the rape of the teenager.
The court was told he already had a number of convictions for sex crimes, violence and dishonesty.
He was a registered sex offender having previously been guilty of molesting a 15-year-old girl.
Lewsley was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at a later date.
