Scotland has recorded nine coronavirus deaths and 1815 new cases in the past 24 hours, the latest Scottish Government figures show.
It brings the death toll under the daily measure – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 8041.
The daily test positivity rate is 10.6%, up from 9.6% the previous day.
A total of 338 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19, up one on the previous day, with 40 patients in intensive care, also up one.
So far, 4,061,687 people have received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination and 3,482,188 have received their second dose.
The latest figures follow the announcement that the Scottish Government wants its emergency coronavirus powers to become permanent – including the ability to order schools to close, impose lockdowns and operate virtual courts.
Families who lost loved ones to Covid will meet with Scottish ministers on Tuesday to discuss a future public inquiry into the handling of the pandemic.
School pupils have returned to classes across Scotland with parents split on whether they should have to wear masks.
Following the move beyond level zero, the majority of remaining coronavirus restrictions were eased across Scotland but the classroom is still a very different place from pre-Covid times.
