A cyclist has been taken to hospital with “serious injuries” after being struck by a lorry in North Ayrshire.
Police were called to the B7080, Long Drive, near to the Oldhall roundabout in Irvine around 3.30pm on Thursday following the crash involving a cyclist and HGV.
The 61-year-old male cyclist was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries. The HGV driver was uninjured.
The road was closed for around eight hours to allow for investigations to be carried out.
Police are now urging anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have dash cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
