Damage caused by Bonfire Night disorder has been left strewn across the streets of Glasgow as police launched an investigation to hunt those responsible.
Officers were called to disorder on Tuesday in the Herriet Street and Albert Drive areas of Pollokshields amid a night of violence across the country.
Images from the area showed debris including used fireworks in the middle of the road.
Specially trained riot officers were deployed across Scotland to combat disorder a year after violent scenes unfolded in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Police confirmed that officers responded to multiple incidents involving “large groups of youths” throwing fireworks and other objects across Edinburgh.
The force responded to 18 incidents on Tuesday evening as part of Operation Moonbeam.
Four incidents of attacks on fire appliances responding to calls were reported in Glasgow with no injuries reported.
Earlier in the day, officers in Glasgow recovered a “significant quantity” of fireworks from a van in the Drumpchapel area.
In a statement posted on social media, police said the fireworks were being “sold to the general public, including children” and they had been seized.
Chief Inspector Chris Thomson said: “An investigation is under way to identify those involved in incidents of disorder on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 in the Herriet Street and Albert Drive areas of Pollokshields.
“Enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with information is asked to call us via 101, quoting incident number 4535 of November 5, 2024.
