The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a dog was found dead in a layby in East Kilbride.
A member of the public discovered the dog, a female blue Sharpei, on March 2 on Cairnmuir Road.
The dog is thought to have been around around six years old.
The Scottish SPCA is appealing for any information on the discovery to come forward.
SSPCA inspector McCrossan, said: “We were called out to a report of a dead dog who looked like she had potentially been dumped.
“She was a female blue Sharpei dog thought to be around six years old.

“The dog was microchipped but no longer belonged to the registered owner. She was not wearing a collar.
“It is unknown what has happened, so we are asking if anyone has any information surrounding the circumstances of this dog, to call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
