The death of a man, whose body was pulled from a canal in Glasgow on Tuesday, is being treated as unexplained.
Emergency services were called to the Forth and Clyde canal near Blairdardie Drive at Gorget Avenue in the Knightswood area of the city at around 6.30am after reports of concern for a person.
A 54-year-old man’s body was recovered at the scene. Investigators are treating the death as unexplained, however, it is not believed to be suspicious.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.30am on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, we received a report of concern for person in the water near Blairdardie Drive at Gorget Avenue, Knightswood/Blairdardie, Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and the body of a 54-year-old man was recovered. His next of kin are aware.
“His death is being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
