iStockA dog has died after being attacked by two other dogs on a street in East Ayrshire.
Police received reports of a dog being attacked by a pair of dogs near Craigens Road in Cumnock on Sunday, December 29.
The dog was taken to the vet but died from its injuries.
Officers said a 37-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Sunday, December 29, 2024, we received reports of a dog attacked by two other dogs near Craigens Road, Cumnock.
“One dog was taken to the vets but died from its injuries.
“One man, aged 37, has been charged in connection, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
