A dog walker kicked a man unconscious on New Year’s Day before spitting on him.
Ross Devlin, 26, pounced on George Nobbs outside a flat in Milton, Glasgow on January 1 this year.
Mr Nobbs had earlier argued with another man before Devlin punched him then kicked his head.
On Thursday, Devlin pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault to Mr Nobb’s severe injury.
Prosecutor Hannah Terrance told the court Devlin, of Milton, was out with his pet when he initially repeatedly punched Mr Nobbs.
She added : “While on the ground, Devlin moved forward and kicked Mr Nobbs to the head causing him to lose consciousness.
“While Mr Nobbs was still unconscious, Devlin walked back over to him as he was lying face down on the roadway and spat on him.”
The blood soaked victim came to and staggered away.
He suffered a broken leg, rib and fractured knee.
Sheriff Sean Murphy QC continued bail as sentencing was deferred.
He said: “This was a very serious matter, imprisonment is a likely outcome, prepare your affairs and get them in order.”
