Police are appealing for information after a lorry was robbed of dozens of e-cigarette pallets while parked in a lay-by on the A75.
Officers said around 10.45pm on Thursday a lorry was parked on the road between the B7020 and B721 near to the Annan West Junction.
A short time later, a vehicle approached and a group of men got out and threatened the lorry driver before forcing open the lorry.
Twenty-seven pallets of e-cigarettes were stolen from within, with the driver uninjured but left badly shaken.
Officers are checking CCTV images from the local area and further afield for any additional information.
Detective Constable Jim Kirkpatrick said: “I am appealing to road users who were on the A75 near Annan around the time of the theft to think back and consider if they saw or noticed anything.
“Also, please check your dash-cam footage as your footage could be significant to our investigation.”
