A driver has been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a McDonald’s drive-thru in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to the collision on Auchinlea Way at Glasgow Fort shopping centre around 1.10pm on Tuesday.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital to be checked over after the vehicle crashed into the building.
Images from the scene show damage to the barrier surrounding the drive-thru area, with the car also crashed into the side of the restaurant.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it sent one appliance to the scene before the driver was taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
McDonald’s confirmed the restaurant has been closed due to the damage.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.10pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, we were called to a report of a crash on Auchinlea Way, Glasgow, where a car had struck a building.
“Officers attended and the driver of the car has been taken to hospital to be checked over. Enquiries are continuing.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 1.09pm on Tuesday, July 29, to reports of an incident involving one vehicle at a premises on Auchinlea Way, Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance to the scene, where firefighters worked to make the area safe.
“One casualty was taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“The crew have now left the scene.”
A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “Our Glasgow Fort restaurant is currently closed due to damage caused by an earlier incident.
“We are supporting our people and assisting the police with their enquiries.
“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience this closure may cause.”
