A drug trafficker has agreed to give up his collection of luxury watches, including a gold Rolex timepiece valued at more than £41,000, for a confiscation order made against him

Connor Murray is currently serving a six-year jail term for drug and firearm offences and was brought back to court on Monday to settle a proceeds of crime action.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard that it was agreed the 31-year-old made around £500,000 during his criminal career.

A judge was told that assets totalling more than £260,000 had been identified for confiscation after the Crown brought a proceeds of crime case against him.

The bulk of the sum was made up of cash already in the hands of police in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

But advocate depute Bryan Heaney said three Rolex watches with an estimated value of £47,500 would also be included in the available assets, along with a further Rolex Sky Dweller gold watch valued at £41,550.

He told the court: “If the watches realise less than the estimated values the confiscation order will be adjusted accordingly.”

The judge, Lady Drummond, agreed to make a confiscation order against Connor Murray.

She made a further confiscation order against his father, James Murray, 60, for £150,000, with the funds coming to meet it from property.

He was jailed for four years alongside his son after the pair admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine at Greenock Road, Bishopton, in Renfrewshire, on March 21, 2024.

Connor Murray also admitted illegal possession of a handgun and possession of criminal property in the form of “dirty money”. All the offences were aggravated by a connection to serious, organised crime.

A total of 1.8kg of cocaine was seized by police worth up to £149,000.
