The famous traffic cone which sits on top of the Duke of Wellington statue in Glasgow’s city centre has been swapped for a small statue of a pigeon reading the paper.
Located on Queen Street, in front of Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art, the statue has infamously been adorned with an orange and white traffic cone for most of the last 40 years.
However on Monday, the Duke was sporting a brand new addition.
Instead of the cone, a bronze statue of a pigeon reading a newspaper appeared on the Duke’s head.
Perusing a copy of The Daily Dropping, the bird also wears a mini cone on top of its head.
The rebel bearThe street artist known as Rebel Bear is believed to be behind the installation.
The “Scottish Banksy” posted images of the pigeon on social media on Sunday evening.
“The dignified and undignified of beasts,” Rebel Bear said.
“Located: well, youse know where.”
The artist, best known for their Glasgow street painting Fear and Love, has seen his work appear in Glasgow and Edinburgh and as far flung as Paris and New York.
