An East Dunbartonshire nursery has been told to make “significant” improvements following a damning Care Inspectorate report.
The government body intends to cancel the Kirkintilloch Nursery’s registration if changes are not made to staff deployment, sleep routines and mealtimes.
The childcare service has until September 30 to ensure “there are suitably qualified and competent individuals working” at the site and that staff are suitably deployed to keep “children safe”.
By August 15, Kirkintilloch Nursery must implement “safe sleep routines” for all children and ensure the environment is equipped with “well-maintained sleep equipment.”
On the same date, the service has to demonstrate that children have “positive mealtimes” which “promote social interaction and wellbeing.”
Staff must also be trained to manage and prevent incidents of choking.
The Care Inspectorate states that failure to meet the laid out criteria may result in the body “proceeding to make a proposal to cancel registration.”
Kirkintilloch Nursery has been contacted for comment.
