An elderly man has died after crashing into a parked vehicle in Glasgow.
Officers were called to reports of the crash involving a car and parked vehicle on Provan Road in the East End of the city around 11am on Thursday.
The 78-year-old driver was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment where he sadly died.
Provan Road was closed for around five hours while investigations were carried out.
The force said enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash are “ongoing”.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.05am on Thursday, February 22, 2024, we were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a parked vehicle on Provan Road in Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and the driver, a 78-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he died during Thursday evening.
“The road was closed and re-opened around 4pm.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
