An elderly man has been left in “critical” condition after being struck by a car in East Renfrewshire.
Officers were alerted to the incident that happened on Stamperland Crescent at Clarkston Toll Roundabout on Friday.
The 86-year-old male pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff described his condition as “critical”.
Police confirmed that the 54-year-old male driver of the Mercedes GLE was uninjured.
The road was closed for several hours to allow for collision investigation to take place.
Police Scotland is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Seargeant Scott Gourlay said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area, who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us.
“If anyone has a dash cam, please pass on any relevant footage to us as it could assist us in establishing the full circumstances of this incident.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3034 of May 17, 2024.”
