© Google Maps 2024A woman has died in hospital following a fire at a property in Argyll.
Emergency services were called to a flat in Gallanach Road, in the Oban area, at around 10.20pm on Monday.
An 87-year-old woman was taken to hospital. She was later pronounced dead.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) extinguished the blaze and confirmed has launched a joint investigation with Police Scotland.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.20pm on Monday, August 26, 2024, officers received a report of a fire at a property on Gallanach Road, Oban.
“An 87-year-old woman was taken to hospital, where she later died.
“The fire is not suspicious.”
