Eleven people were forced to flee their homes after a fire broke out at a private garage in Coatbridge.
The blaze started shortly after 4.30am on Tuesday at Hornock Cottages.
Residents in nearby houses were evacuated and one woman was treated for smoke inhalation by ambulance crews.
Firefighters are still on the scene more than six hours on to dampen down the area.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.32am on Tuesday, September 29, to reports of a domestic garage on fire at Hornock Cottages, Coatbridge.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and a heave rescue unit to the scene, which was a detached private garage.
“Eleven people were evacuated from adjacent properties as a precaution.
“One woman received treatment from the Scottish Ambulance Service for slight smoke inhalation.
“Firefighters are currently still in attendance as they continue to dampen down the area.”
