Fire rips through house as emergency services rush to scene

The public have been urged to avoid the area as fire crews continue to extinguish the flames.

Emergency services have been called to the scene of a fire in Lochwinnoch.

Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Services (SFRS) were called to the scene on Speirs Road.

The blaze began around 3.25pm on Thursday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are assisting SFRS with a fire on Speirs Road, Lochwinnoch, which was reported to us around 3.25pm on Thursday, August 17.

“The public is asked to avoid the area to allow emergency services access to deal with the incident.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.06pm on Thursday, August 17 to reports of a dwelling fire on Spiers Road, Lochwinnoch.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene where firefighters are continuing to extinguish the fire. There are no reported casualties.”
