Police have found no weapon in a renewed search in Oban connected to the drive-by murder of a man in Glasgow almost nine years ago.
Euan Johnston, from Maryhill, was involved in a short pursuit through Glasgow streets on November 15, 2016, when a black Audi Q5 pulled up next to him at a junction.
The 26-year-old was in the driver’s seat of a black Audi RS4 estate when he was shot on Shields Road, near Scotland Street, at 11.45pm.
Police say he suffered “massive” injuries and died a short time later at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A passenger in the car, a 29-year-old, was not injured.
On May 10, 2018, David Scott was convicted of his murder at the High Court in Glasgow. The 33-year-old was jailed for a minimum of 22 years.
Investigating officers said that following extensive enquiries, they know that more than one person was at the scene of the murder, and the case remains open.
A team of detectives, specialist officers and national resources began carrying out detailed searches in a grass embankment area, near Soroba Road in Oban on Tuesday.
Officers believed a firearm connected to the murder may have been situated there.
However, on Friday, police confirmed that no weapon had been recovered.
Detective superintendent Peter Sharp said: “I’d like to thank the public for their cooperation during this activity and stress that we are continuing to appeal for any new information which may assist.
“From our extensive enquiries, we know that more than one person was at the scene of Euan Johnston’s murder and we are determined to bring those responsible to justice.
“We are continuing the investigation and if you have any information, no matter how insignificant, please come forward.
“Any new information we receive is taken seriously and will be thoroughly investigated.”
