The Irn-Bru carnival opened its doors on Friday for its 104th event.
Ten-year-old bagpiper Jack Folan and Irn-Bru Carnival’s lead organiser were at the opening ceremony at Glasgow’s SEC alongside the Irn-Bru Can Man.
New this year at Europe’s biggest indoor funfair is the Extreme Ice Blast, the Air Ride and the Super Trooper.
The carnival will take place until January 14 and has a range of events throughout the month.
Standard entry tickets are available from £19.50 with discounts available for groups, concessions and Young Scot card holders, and kids under three go free.
Events running throughout the month are as follows:
Princess & Superhero day
Running on December 27 and January 7 the popular family theme days will have all the fun and action of the rides and stalls, with kids able to meet their favourite princess or superhero. If they come dressed as their favourite character, they get a free ride token.
Unicorn Experience
On December 31, attendees will have the chance to meet two cute unicorns as they welcome families on the main SEC concourse.
Autism Friendly
Back by popular demand the autism friendly session runs from 11am-2pm on December 31. This session is perfect for those with autism and sensory processing disorders allowing them to enjoy the rides with shorter queues and less crowds. The lights in the main hall will be on, the music turned off or very low and the rides going a little slower.
Family photographer
Capture those wonderful memories on the January 3 as the carnival’s in-house family photographer tours the halls taking free snaps of families having fun with a digital image available as a free keepsake.
Over 16s session
A first for the Irn-Bru Carnival, this adults only session on Thursday January 11 from 4pm-9pm, features an exclusive DJ set from DJ Dominique, who will be performing from 5.30pm – 6.15pm. As well as the usual thrilling rides there will be extra strobe lighting and music.
Ginger Day
It’s National Kiss a Ginger day on the January 12 so to celebrate all Scottish redheads the carnival is giving an extra ride token to anyone attending with hair the colour of Irn-Bru.
