The family of a missing man last seen in Glasgow city centre are ‘extremely concerned’ for his welfare.

James Laird, who is from Cambuslang, was seen in Lawmoor Street, Gorbals around 8.35am on Monday and was seen around two hours later in the Saltmarket area.

The 39-year-old is described as white and around 5ft 8ins. When he was last seen he was wearing a black top, a black gilet, dark-blue trousers and black boots with a black beanie hat.

Inspector Alex Marshall said: “It is completely out of character for James to go missing and his family are extremely concerned for his wellbeing.

“He is known to frequent Glasgow city centre and uses public transport. I urge anyone who has seen him or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible.”
