Family of man missing for almost two weeks grow increasingly concerned

The family of a man missing from Kilwinning say they are growing increasingly concerned for his safety as police re-issue an appeal to trace him.

Andrew Linton was last seen in the Corsehill area of Kilwinning around 5.35am on Wednesday, February 22.

The 43-year-old is described as white, around 5ft 6in in height, of stocky build, and speaks with a local Ayrshire accent.

He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, a light-coloured beanie hat, dark blue cargo trousers and black boots. It is believed he may be wearing a grey hooded jumper and carrying a red and grey ‘Karrimor’ rucksack with laces crisscrossed the front of the bag.

Reports of a man walking on Lochlibo Road at the junction with Cairnmount Road in Irvine on February 22 around 6.25am were given to police however officers say this was not Mr Linton.

Inspector David Cameron said: “Andrew was last seen over two weeks ago and as time goes on his family are becoming understandably more concerned.

“I would like to thank the members of the public who got in touch to assist with our recent appeal.

“Although this sighting was determined not to be Andrew, our efforts to trace Andrew are continuing and we have been searching the local area as well as reviewing CCTV.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who believes they have seen Andrew, or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us. Any information, no matter how small could help.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0524 of Wednesday, February 22, 2023.”
