Fire crews are battling a blaze at an abandoned hospital in Paisley.

Emergency services were called to the old Royal Alexandra Infirmary on Calside Road around 4.55pm on Sunday.

Four fire engines have been sent to the scene, and the road has been closed at the junction of Neilston Road.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews were in attendance at a fire which took hold on the second floor of an abandoned building.

There are no reports of any injuries.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Calside at the junction of Neilston Road in Paisley is closed following a report of a fire around 4.55pm on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

“Emergency services are in attendance and members of the public are advised to avoid the area.”
