Firefighters are continuing to battle a blaze at a recycling centre in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to London Road, which is closed from Methven Street to Maukinfauld Road, due to a fire that broke out at a premises around 8pm on Wednesday.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent six fire engines, a high-reach appliance and several specialist resources after being called around 7.20pm.

On Thursday morning, SFRS confirmed the appliances and crews remain at the scene.

Residents are being advised to keep their windows closed, and drivers urged to avoid the area.

There are no reported casualties.

Images showed what appeared to be debris on fire at the recycling centre.

A Police Scotland statement read: “London Road, Glasgow is closed from Methven Street to Maukinfauld Road due to a fire at a premises which was reported around 8pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

“Emergency services are in attendance.

“Residents are advised to keep their windows closed.

“Road users should avoid the area if possible.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “London Road in Glasgow remains closed from Methven Street to Maukinfauld Road following a fire on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

“Emergency services remain in attendance and motorists are asked to avoid the area.”
