A fire was deliberately started at a property in Renfrewshire on Saturday night, with police investigating potential links with an ongoing gang war.
At around 11.25pm, emergency services were called to a blaze in a residential area on Kilbarchan Road, in Bridge of Weir.
The fire was extinguished and there were no reports of any injuries.
Officers have since confirmed that the fire was deliberate, and STV News understands that police are keeping an open mind about links to an escalating gang feud across the country.
Enquiries are ongoing.
Detective sergeant Kenny Taggart, of Paisley CID, said: “The fire was set alight within a residential area and caused considerable distress & alarm to nearby residents. Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries.
“I am appealing to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the local area to contact us. I would ask residents in the Bridge of Weir area and surrounding villages who have video doorbell, CCTV or possible dash cam footage to review it, as it may have captured something that can assist our enquiries.”
