Firefighters battle blaze which broke out close to Beatson Institute

Four appliances were mobilised to the scene after the alarm was raised shortly after midday on Tuesday.

Firefighters battle blaze at Cancer Research UK Beatson Insitiute in Glasgow

Firefighters are working to extinguish a serious fire close to the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute in Glasgow.

Crews were alerted to reports of a fire at around 12.06pm on Tuesday, August 9 on Switchback Road in Bearsden.

The fire affected an electrical substation located close to the institute on the Garscube Estate.

Four appliances were mobilised by the Scottish Fire and Rescue after they were alerted.

There are no reported casualties following the incident.
