Firefighters worked through the night to tackle wildfire in Dumfries and Galloway.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the fire near the A701, north of Moffat, at around 6.15pm on Saturday.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched nine appliances to the blaze, which was around 600mx50m large.
On Sunday, SFRS said three appliances remain at the scene.
Police Scotland confirmed the A701 was closed in both directions on Saturday evening and it reopened around 11.30am on Sunday.
The fire broke out as an “extreme” risk alert was in place across Scotland until Saturday.
A wildfire in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, was extinguished at 8.30am on Saturday after igniting on Thursday, with a fire engine being sent back to the scene to ensure it has not reignited, according to a spokesperson for SFRS.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland: “The wildfires near the A701, which were reported on Saturday evening, April 12, 2025, have been extinguished.
“Officers were made aware of fires in the Tweedsmuir area and one just north of Moffat. There have been no reported injuries.
“The road has now fully reopened and the public are thanked for their cooperation and support.”
