A firework landed on a pram with a baby inside after reportedly being thrown by a group of youths outside a Glasgow park.
The incident took place next to Queen’s Park in the south side of the city on Tuesday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses saw a woman pushing the stroller near Langside Hall, on Langside Avenue, at around 2.30pm when a pyrotechnic landed on the pram.
Fortunately, protected by a rain cover, the child inside was unharmed.
Two 14-year-old boys have been charged in connection with the incident that the police described as “culpable and reckless conduct”.
The force said a report would be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Chief inspector Neil McLeod said anybody involved in anti-social behaviour using fireworks would be held responsible.
He appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information that could help officers in their inquiries to get in touch.
CI McLeod said: “We received a report of a firework hitting a pram in Langside Road in Glasgow. The incident happened at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. No one was hurt as a result and enquiries are ongoing.
“The anti-social behaviour associated with the use of fireworks has the potential to cause serious injury and will not be tolerated. Anyone found to be involved in such offences will be brought to account for their actions.
