The runway at one of the UK’s busiest airports is operating again after dozens of flights were grounded amid heavy snow.
Teams at Glasgow Airport worked through the night to clear the tarmac but planes were unable to take off on Saturday morning.
It comes after much of western and northwestern Scotland woke to a blanket of snow and ice amid a yellow weather warning from the Met Office.
Forecasters warned the snowy conditions would affect roads and railways, while there is an increased risk of injury from icy surfaces.
The mercury plunged to minus 11C in some places overnight.
“Our runway is now fully operational again and we are working with our airline partners and their handlers to resume flight schedules,” a spokesperson for Glasgow Airport said.
