Rangers legend Ally McCoist has been fined after being caught speeding twice in one day.

The 61-year-old appeared in the dock at Dumbarton’s Justice of the Peace court on Tuesday where he pled guilty to driving at excessive speed twice on January 6.

Prosecutors state he travelled at 48mph in Tarbet and 55mph in Arrochar, where both areas have a 30mph limit.

At the hearing, McCoist, of Bridge of Weir in Renfrewshire, was fined £200 for the Tarbet offence and £310 for the Arrochar incident.

His license was also issued with four penalty points.

McCoist was given one month to pay the fine in full.
