Four windows were left shattered and smashed after beer bottles were reportedly thrown at a bus in Glasgow.

The First Bus 1C service, from Drumchapel to the city centre, was targeted on Harland Street in Whiteinch just after 7pm on Tuesday.

Pictures of the targeted bus show a significant hole in a window, with shards of glass spread throughout the interior.

Police Scotland were called to the scene and an investigation is under way.

A First Bus spokesperson said: “We can confirm four windows were shattered or smashed on one of our service 1C buses last night shortly after 7pm on Harland Street in Whiteinch.

“The police were called immediately and we are assisting them with their investigation.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of vandalism to a bus in the Harland Street area of Glasgow that happened on Wednesday, December 3, 2024.

“Enquiries are at an early stage.”
