Four men have appeared in court charged with Police Scotland’s only unsolved murder.

Anthony Ferns, 33, was assaulted inside his car on Crebar Street in the Thornliebank area, near Glasgow, around 10pm on Thursday, April 18, 2019.

Tony, as he was known, managed to drive the Audi A3 a short distance to his home on Roukenburn Street but collapsed.

Paramedics were unable to save him and he died in his garden in front of his mum Phyllis.

A murder inquiry was launched and hundreds of people were spoken to as officers examined thousands of hours of CCTV footage.

The case is said to be Police Scotland’s only unsolved murder since the country-wide force replaced the regional model in 2013.

On Friday, police announced that four men had been arrested and charged in connection with Mr Ferns’ death.
