iStockPolice have arrested four teenagers as part of an investigation into a spate of motorcycle thefts across Glasgow.
Officers raided four addresses in the Mansewood, Thornliebank, Pollok and Arden areas during a day of action on August 7.
A stolen motorcycle along with various other items, including car keys, weapons, drugs and quantities of cash were recovered during the searches.
Four males aged 15, 17, 17 and 19 were arrested on the day and were later released pending further enquiries.
Police confirmed that over the past three months, they have recovered dozens of stolen motorcycles.
Chief inspector Allistair MacDonald said: “Recently we’ve seen an increase in this type of crime in the Greater Glasgow area and officers have been taking decisive action to address this issue.
“Out of the 58 motorcycles reported stolen over the past three months, we have managed to recover 39 of the vehicles in varying conditions.
“The day of action we carried out sends a clear message – we will not tolerate this criminality in our communities.
“Information from the public is vital and we’d continue to encourage anyone with information or concerns to please get in touch.”
