A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of a dad who died following an alleged attack in South Lanarkshire.

Emergency services were called to General’s Gate, near Old Glasgow Road, in Uddingston at around 7.35pm on October 6 after they received reports of an injured man.

Ambulance crews found David Graham, from Cambuslang, seriously injured, with members of the public trying to help him.

Paramedics took the 38-year-old to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Following a post-mortem examination, police said they were treating Mr Graham’s death as murder.

Liam Kippen appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court charged with murder on October 10.

The 29-year-old from Motherwell made no plea and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear in court again within the next eight days.

A 41-year-old man was also apprehended in connection, however, he was later released pending further enquiries.

Loved ones have now set up a GoFundMe to help Mr Graham’s family cope with the “unimaginable loss” of the “selfless” dad.

The fundraiser read: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the loss of our beloved David. David was the most selfless and caring person you’d have ever met who was tragically taken far too soon on October 6 2024, This unimaginable loss has left us all devastated.

“David was a loving husband, dad, son, brother and friend. I have created this GoFundMe campaign to support David’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Our goal is to alleviate some of the financial burdens they are facing.

“While no amount of money can fill the void left by David’s passing, we hope to provide some comfort and support to his wife and their family.

“We understand that this is a challenging time for everyone, and we are grateful for any contribution you can make, no matter the size. Every donation will go directly to David’s family to help them navigate the difficult days ahead.”
