Fundraiser launched for family of teen who died after Glasgow SWG3 DJ event

A fundraiser has been launched for the family of one of the teenagers who died following an all-day DJ event in Glasgow.

Scott Allison and Marcus Dick passed away in separate incidents on Saturday after the gig at Glasgow’s SWG3.

The deaths of the 18-year-olds, who did not know each other, are not thought to be linked but are believed to be drug-related.

Scott died after being found unwell at Croy Train Station as he attempted to return home after the event in the afternoon.

Marcus, a former pupil at Coatbridge High School, passed away at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Friends of Scott’s family have set up a Just Giving fundraiser to help raise £13,000.
Lewis Mclachlan, who started the crowdfunder, said: “In loving memory of our dearest friend Scott Allison Jnr.
“He was taken away from us far too soon and will be missed by so many.
“Kindest, sweetest and most innocent boy.
“He had so many friends and people who cared for him. We just want to do something positive for the family and give back to his loved ones.
“We will be walking Ben Nevis sometime soon for Scott.”
Scott’s family said they are “devastated” by the loss and added that the teenager was “loved very much by his family and friends”.
“We are asking for privacy at this very difficult time and would like to thank everyone for their kind words,” they added.
